IFFI 2024, 02: To market, to mark it!

Market Screenings, previously known as Industry Screenings, serve as a crucial platform for filmmakers to showcase their films to sales agents, distributors, producers, and festival programmers from around the world. These screenings play a pivotal role in promoting and marketing films in the international market, providing talented filmmakers with opportunities to establish valuable connections and secure distribution deals. The 18th edition of Market Screenings is scheduled to be held from November 20th to November 24th, 2024, at the picturesque Marriott Resort Goa, India. With its scenic beauty and vibrant culture, Goa offers an enchanting backdrop that adds to the allure of the event, making it a preferred destination for film industry professionals.

Previous films like Skater Girl, Axone, nKuthiravaal, Oththa Seruppu, Ek Sangayachay, No Dorai, Pimple, Bena, Dithee, and Aani Maani have been featured, making it an exciting and promising event for industry professionals and filmmakers alike.

The 18th edition of Market Screenings in Goa, India, promises to celebrate the art of filmmaking, foster creativity, and cultivate meaningful connections within the global film industry. With an impressive lineup of films and a diverse array of industry professionals in attendance, this event is set to be a pivotal moment in the journey of many filmmakers and the films they hold dear. Deadline for applications is November 05, 2024. Any film of any length and genre can be submitted for Market Screenings. A delegate registration is mandatory to book a screening.

Acceptable formats

The Frame rate should be 24fps.

Frame size: 1920*808 (letterboxed with 136 pixels of black on top and bottom for a 2.35:1 Scope Aspect Ratio).

In case of the content being shot on the flat with 1.77 / 1.85:1 then the content may have to be in 1920*1080 full range without any letterboxing of black on top and bottom.

The above content can be given as a 10-bit DPX Sequential file.

For DI movies, submissions will be accepted in the format mentioned below:

The output can be a 10bit DPX / 16bit TIFF or a 12-bit J2C Sequential file. Please ensure all of your content reaches us only in a Linear file format You can opt for a DCI color space on an XYZ or a P3 format whichever the DI setup can accommodate for viewing of content during your grade. In the case for some reason if your workflow is in LOG, do ensure the DI lab also gives the LUT along with the DPX files

Audio

The Frame rate should be 24fps

5.1 or 7.1 individual mono Wave files

Provide the audio as individual channel .wav files with labeling, e.g.: Left, Right, Centre etc.

Subtitle Format

Placed/Burned within safe image area or provide it as .asc format @ 24 fps Media.

The cost for booking one Market Screening slot is ₹20,000/- INR for Feature Film (Above 40 minutes) and ₹10,000 INR for Short Films (10 minutes - 40 minutes) (inclusive of all taxes, exclusive of bank charges) per screening.
