Cinemasthan in Rajasthan: A RIFF Film Club initiative

Cinemasthan in Rajasthan: A RIFF Film Club initiative

Cinemasthan is an Online Over-the-Top (OTT) video streaming platform initiated by RIFF Film Club. Cinemasthan primarily focusses on Rajasthani Language content, and also offers Short Films, Music Video Albums, Feature films, Documentary Films, Animation Films & Regional Films, from India and abroad. Cinemasthan is Rajasthan's first local OTT Platform which has a highly evolved video streaming technology and pays high attention to the quality of experience by viewers across various devices and platforms.

It was launched on 14 August 2021, in the presence of Dr. K.L. Jain (Hon. Secretary General - Rajasthan Chamber of Commerce & Industries), who was the Chief Guest, and Celebrity Guest Shaji Choudhary (Maqbool in Mirzapur Series) at the Rajasthan Chamber Bhawan, Jaipur.

As it focusses on the Cinema of Rajasthan, it is named by combining the two words ‘Cinema’ and ‘Rajasthan’ and hence it is named Cinemasthan.

On the occasion, the founder of Cinemasthan, Somendra Harsh, stated, "Cinemasthan prioritises the content of Rajasthan above all the content available. As of now, it is based on a subscription model of video monetization, or Subscription Video on Demand (SVOD). In the near future, it will be available on Pay Per View (PPV) and later it will be available on Advertisement-based (AVOD). In the next three months, Cinemasthan will be providing Rajasthan-based content like Mumal Mahindra, Dhola Maru and Jalal Bubna."

Cinemasthan's video streaming technology ensures that the best possible video quality is played back automatically, based on the available bandwidth, therefore making it a great video experience, on both mobile networks as well as Wi-Fi internet connections. Cinemasthan’s video is optimised to play on mobile networks with inconsistent throughput, so that its users don't have to compromise on their experience on the low end, and play HD quality video on the top end of bandwidth availability. Additionally, users can manually select the quality of video that suits their taste. Content search on Cinemasthan has been optimised to reduce complexity and delay in accessing content. Accurate search results, with lightning-fast, auto-complete suggestions, navigate users to video with minimal navigation friction and ease of use.

Content organisation on Cinemasthan is a result of a thoughtful user experience approach and strong design principles that ensure that the user is not overwhelmed with the breadth of content available. Using a mix of algorithms and human curation, users, at any stage of their interaction with Cinemasthan, will discover varied content and see their experience evolve with their interaction patterns over time.

Cinemasthan not only offers the latest and popular movies and knowledge-based content but also helps the young and new film-makers, by providing them a global platform from the Indian subcontinent and the world.

Various genres of content is available, like Rajasthani Music Albums (Goriya, Tara Ri Chundadi, Chaal Aapa Chala), Rajasthani Classical Film (Karmabai), Rajasthani Short Film (Maans), Animation Film (Khejarli), Documentary Film (Mission Safeer, Malaan), Hindi Music Album (Tenu Takda Rahu, Gwala, etc), Hindi Short Film (Pearl, Kokh, etc), Hindi Feature Film (Shubh Raatri) and many more.

Cinemasthan can be accessed on the web at www.cinemasthan.com. Cinemasthan will be available soon on the Google Play Store & Apple App Store for mobile and tablet applications. It will also be available on Apple TV, Android TV.
