UPDATE Shorts Showcase

Hello Everyone!

Here are films that have made it on to the circut and are airing tonight!

On Shorts Showcase PBS-KCVR Saterday April, 19, 2014 at 11:00

THE LAST MARBLE
Sometimes children teach us what we can never learn from adults.
Every child has the ability to create something beautiful. This story is about a nine year old street kid who makes things from metal scrap and junk. After his most precious marble creation is shattered he embarks on a little adventurous journey to remake the creation.
Directed by: Manjari Makijany

MODERN LOVE
John-Paul and Sylvia are a couple who have discovered that the secret to joy found inside being in love is created from the joy and passion you share from inside yourself. A couple deeply in love play their hands at a game of textual wit.
Directed by: Heather Shepherd

BUCKEYE
A buckeye tree stands alone on a hillside, surrounded by nature but close to civilization. A pair of hikers – middle- aged, possibly married – are seen mid-argument as the man, ‘Victor,’ berates the woman, ‘Virginia,’ and flicks her head with a fingernail while she silently endures his verbal and physical abuse. As they approach the tree, Victor storms off, leaving Virginia at the tree. Sitting against the trunk, sheltered by its overarching leaves and branches, Virginia fantasizes about killing herself or killing Victor. Will she leave him after all?
Directed By: Michael Mesmer

QUEEN OF THE NIGHT ARIA
A highly original, comic interpretation of the popular Aria from Mozart's "The Magic Flute". Director Harry Hall's outrageous version utilizes Puppetry, hilarious subtitles and sound effects to present this classic tale, while still maintaining the dignity of Mozart's timeless music.
Directed By: Harry Hall
