The San Diego International Kid's Film Festival promotes the idea of entertainment with education. Supported by many across the world, the festival supports the entertainment and education industries by showcasing international films, and gives young, aspiring filmmakers a channel to communicate to an international community. The resulting collaboration produces a unique multi-cultural experience, engaging young viewers with positive media, as a diverse education.




The 2020 San Diego International Kids’ Film Festival (SDIKFF) will take place this in August on 21st-23rd, 2020 at the Schulman Auditorium in Carlsbad, California. On behalf of the San Diego International Kids’ Film Festival committee we are pleased to invite you to submit your Film, TV, Screenplays, or songs to the 2020 San Diego International Kids’ Film Festival. 

The 2020 San Diego International Kids’ Film Festival films and screenplay selection will have a display area at the film booth. All official selections will be for Jury, Audience and Festival Honors Rewards. The Jury is made up of filmmakers and industry representatives that will screen all competition finalist then announce the results at the end of the festival. For the songwriting contest there will be artist at the festival galas to sing the selected songs. For the selected screenplays we will showcase there will be actors on stage to act out your screenplay.

We aim to promote positive creativity and an educational impact on the youth. The San Diego International Kids’ Film Festival actively supports innovative films made by film makers all around the world. The film festival offers an exciting multicultural platforms open to all. We connect aspiring filmmakers, kids and educators alike while screening quality films, television episodes and showcase screenplays that are played in short and feature length. As well as, documentaries, animations, educational visual arts and even mixed media!

San Diego International Kids’ Film Festival is on the road to becoming the primary film festival for the children and family arena. The 2020 San Diego International Kids’ Film Festival will host Opening Night Gala, Industrial Panel Discussions, Screenplay showcases, the Red Carpet Award Ceremony, Family Film Market, and the Cultural Angel Pageant. These events will be interactive between the filmmakers and the local kids. Youth and adult critiques will be giving comments to the selected films after the screenings. There will also be volunteer interpreters to assist with non-speaking English filmmakers during the event. There will be film distributors present at the festival to secure wanted material as well as, industry personal serving on the film juries.

The deadline for film submissions to the 2020 San Diego International Kids’ Film Festival is July 1, 2020. Filmmakers can submit films early. The film festival guidelines, rules, application information and the film submission form can be found at .
