VIth City of San Sebastián Film Commission Award80 egunean/In 80 days wins the VIth City of San Sebastián Film Commission Award.
As part of the International Film Festival, Fomento de San Sebastián will present the ‘VIth City of San Sebastián Film Commission Award’ to the feature film which best reflects the natural, urban and cultural values of the cities and regions in which it is set. This award, which is to be held for the sixth time, seeks to recognise the work of the audiovisual producers who generate business and employment opportunities in the cities where their films are set. This activity forms part of the PIA strategy (Audiovisual Innovation Pole) via which Fomento de San Sebastián, the municipal company responsible for economic development, promotes the audiovisual industry as an economic engine for the city and its environment. The ‘VIth City of San Sebastián Film Commission Award’ involves a prize of 12,000 euros for the producer of the winning feature film. Likewise, the feature film will have access to an international release platform since it will be shown in the Made in Spain section at the San Sebastián International Film Festival. The ‘City of San Sebastián Film Commission Award’ was created five years ago in order to recognise the importance of cinema in promoting cities as settings serving the audiovisual industry, with the tourism and economic benefits that this involves. As such, the award recognises the effort made to reflect the natural and cultural values of the cities and regions in the feature films, thus contributing towards attracting further productions. The Goya winner ‘Three days with the Family’, ‘Pradolongo’, ‘Alatriste’, ‘The Legend of Time’ and ‘In the City’, are the feature films which have won the five previous City of San Sebastián Film Commission awards. 23.09.2010 | SanSebastian's blog Cat. : CDATA Film Commission Award Film festival Producer San Sebastián Spain Technology Technology the International Film Festival the San Sebastian International Film Festival VIth City AWARDS
