Spanish films in San Sebastian International film Festival

 

The programme of San Sebastian Festival's 59th edition includes 15 Spanish films in the Official Selection and Zabaltegi, the section where the latest movies by established directors rub shoulders with new works from young filmmakers. Three of these titles will compete for the Golden Shell and another three for the Kutxa-New Directors Award; the others will be screened out-of-competition.

NO HABRÁ PAZ PARA LOS MALVADOS (NO REST FOR THE WICKED), the new movie from Enrique Urbizu; LOS PASOS DOBLES (THE DOUBLE STEPS) marks the return to the Festival's Official Selection of Isaki Lacuesta and LA VOZ DORMIDA (THE SLEEPING VOICE), an adaptation of Dulce Chacon's book of the same name, directed by Benito Zambrano will compete in the Official Selection.

As already announced, the opening gala will feature the European premiere of INTRUDERS, a horror/thriller helmed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo with an international cast starring Clive Owen, Carice van Houten, Daniel Brühl, Pilar López de Ayala and Kerry Fox. The film will be screened out-of-competition.Also in the Official Selection out-of-competition Asier Altuna's documentary film BERTSOLARI.

14 D'ABRIL: MACIÀ CONTRA COMPANYS is the latest work helmed by Manuel Huerga.

AL FINAL DEL TÚNEL (A LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL IN THE BASQUE COUNTRY), directed Eterio Ortega on an original idea by Elías Querejeta,

EL CUADERNO DE BARRO (THE CLAY DIARIES) is a documentary by Isaki Lacuesta conceived in collaboration with the artist Miquel Barceló.

EXTRATERRESTRE (EXTRATERRESTRIAL) is the eagerly anticipated new film from director Nacho Vigalondo, an original and unpredictable romantic comedy with alien invasion included.

PUZZLED LOVE is an unexpected proposal from the ESCAC (Escola Superior de Cinema i Audioviuals de Catalunya) through its production company Escándalo Films: the tale of a couple's relationship told in 13 episodes written and directed by 4th year students at the school. A tale packed with laughs and love mirrored in the different styles of 13 up-and-coming promises in our movie world.

VERBO (VERBO), the feature directorial debut from Eduardo Chapero-Jackson, merges fantasy and rap music to narrate the initiatory voyage of a young girl powerfully drawn into a new dimension.

I hope I will be able to come at San Sebastian This year !! I really wanted to attend last year i couldnt  come :((
