Chain Letter is a horror thriller epic

Revealing the talent of Deon Taylor and Chain Letter, his film

By Ron Gilbert

I feel like I have been in a chain letter with Deon Taylor
which started over a

month ago with a
phone interview to his home in Sacramento
. We spoke about his beginnings in his film career and his former days as a
basketball player in Europe prior to my viewing his film
on DVD. After seeing Chain Letter, I could not fathom that this sweet and personal
guy was the director of this horror film which moves Deon to the top of my list
in the horror thriller genre. My daughter Lea and I went to the world premiere
at the Arclight Cinema in Hollywood.
And terror is magnified on the big screen and had us holding onto other to
refrain from jumping out of our seats. In the seat next to me was Victor, a
young filmmaker who agreed with me that filmmakers need to put this film on the
top of their list and store the DVD in their library.

Deon has assembled a team in his productions who have worked
together on other film projects and are now rewarding us with Chain Letter. His
executive producer Roxanne Avent joined up on Dead Tone, which was followed by
The Hustle and now Chain Letter and Nite Tales, TV Series. Producers Steak
House and Dominic Ottersbach came aboard on The Hustle and are involved in the
projects mentioned with Roxanne and the upcoming film Terminated.Omar Joseph
has been with Deon for over 10 years as his assistant and also was a basketball
player. In addition to the team, writers Michel J.Pagan and Diana Erwin have
been collaborating with Deon since his first film.

So what we have here is a very creative and faithful group
riding along with Deon which is how it was back in the day when families ran
the studios in Hollywood

Chain Letter is a film that includes all the current trends
going on the technical world.particularly with students and in this case High
School is the backdrop. We see how the social network is touching everyone by emails,
text messaging and the world of internet matchmaking. As depicted in this film
we all get chain letters and are always told to send it to as many people as we
can but  we will suffer the horrifying consequences which

Chain Letter takes to the most extreme results. Nikki
Reed leads the very talented cast along with character actors Brad Dourif,
Keith David. and Betsy Russell from the Saw films is a detective investigating
the murders

Vincent Gillioz has composed a terrifying score which is a
character in itself and places you in the this mood of apprehension where you
wonder what will happen next

Cinematographer Phillip Lee has created visuals with his
awesome camera crew and seems to love close-ups. He also has been part of the team since Dead
Tone and all the upcoming projects. The makeup and special effects team of Dean
Jones, Alex Noble and hairstylist Karicean Karen Dick along with their assistants
have made us fans of their talents.

Deon Taylor has now been joined by the multi-talented Jamie
Foxx in his new production company No Brainer Productions for features and
television.

So keep tuned and see Chain Letter which opens on October 1st
but please for your own safety leave your I-Phone ,Blackberry and other mobile
devices at home
