Rocky vs the Aussies premiering Animal Kingdom

"OMG it's the world premiere of Twilight tonight!!

(Everybody SCREEEAAAMMMM!)

It's easy to tell where the movie stars are ranked in the A-list -

fans were lining up from 3pm to see Rocky himself, the smooth Sylvestor Stallone, speaking at the LA Film Festival last night.

Twilight fans were lining up 3 days ago to see Robert Pattinson tonight.

But boy did they miss out last night. Sylvestor Stallone strutted around with dark sunnies on, and a real movie star awe. He was given an award and a standing ovation before and after his talk, and he deserved it too - in a king hit that came from left of field, he stole the show with stories about filming Rambo and the Rocky movies that were so hilarious he should be a stand up comedian.

At the same time, while Australia celebrated its first female Prime Minister, the Aussies took on LA with the premiere of Animal Kingdom. Ewan McGregor turned up too, (an honorary Aussie for the night, supporting the cause?).

What a match - Rocky vs the Aussie premiere of 'Animal Kingdom', screening at the same time. I could almost hear the theme song playing 'Eye of the Tiger!'.  I went to Rocky (and yep, I am now worried they won't let me back into Australia), but that 's because there is still a second round to go... Animal Kingdom screens again on Friday- I'll be there! With an animal print on.

more on both these events soon - for now, I need to fly, to get into the madhouse that has become downtown LA before 'Twilight'!
