LET'S CEE Film Festival

LET‘S CEE Film Festival presents once a year in Vienna high-quality productions from Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), including the Caucasus region and Turkey.

Since its first edition in 2012, the LET‘S CEE Film Festival has been providing an exclusive and attractive stage for Central and Eastern European cinematography. Its programme features a selection of the best current feature films and documentaries as well as promising short films, all of which take part in the festival‘s film competitions. In addition to those, the LET‘S CEE Film Festival also features various categories, ranging from legendary classics to topic-related retrospectives and tributes to distinguished children‘s films, depending on the respective topical focus. With only a few exceptions, almost all of the featured films are presented in the respective original versions with English or German subtitles. Many of these are Austrian premieres, being accessible to the Austrian audience for the first time ever.

One of the LET‘S CEE Film Festival‘s four main goals is to advance the international level of acceptance and distribution of Central and Eastern European films. Apart from that, the festival considers itself a forum aimed at initiating and supporting international film cooperation between filmmakers from the CEE region, Austria and other countries. Another one of LET‘S CEE's main goals is to promote promising talent from Central and Eastern Europe and Austria, as well as to make a significant positive contribution to a modern and exemplary understanding of intercultural dialogue, both on a national and international level.

The fourth edition of the LET’S CEE Film Festival, 1-11 October 2015 in Vienna, will present a selection of about 100 outstanding feature films, documentaries and short films from Central and Eastern Europe, the Caucasus region and Turkey in the respective original versions with English or German subtitles. The extensive event programme will feature freely accessible lectures as well as exclusive events and top-class film workshops, accompanied by concerts and attractive series of parties. As in the previous years 2012-2014, there will be numerous filmmakers from Austria and abroad visiting the festival this year as well.

Last Call: Your trailer in the cinema!

Your trailer in the cinema!

The LET’S CEE Film Festival warmly welcomes all creative filmmakers, video artists and computer freaks to participate in our competition of the creation of this year’s official festival trailer.

Without limitations, everybody who wants to submit to the competition is allowed to do so.

You can win a lot of attention in the form of viewers, since the winning trailer is expected to be screened:

• from August 1, in numerous Cineplexx cinemas in Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro and Macedonia,
• before every movie screening during the festival (in the presence of a number of well-known filmmakers from Austria and abroad),
• on the LET’S CEE homepage,
• on the LET’S CEE YouTube channel,
• on the LET’S CEE Facebook page, and last but not least
• on TV, notably on the Austrian TV channel Okto!

So, whoever participates and wins, can rightfully claim that their cinematic work did not only run on TV but in standard cinema settings as well – and in front of a really large audience. On top of everything, the winner will receive the generous amount of 1500 Euros as prize money, provided by the Austrian leading Community TV channel Okto.

Please note: Everybody can submit and win, not only filmmakers from CEE countries. You should still read through the lines below though since these are the terms and conditions you will agree to with your participation:

Deadline for the submission of films is 12 July 2015. Delayed participations and uploads after this date cannot be taken into account.
