Gasparilla International Film FestivalGIFF is back in 2011--March 24 -27! This year is the fesitval's 5th Anniversary, and it is going to be our best year yet! The festival will take place at multiple venues in downtown Tampa, the swank Hyde Park district, the happening SoHo district and edgy Ybor City. If you have joined in the festival activities in the past, you know the parties are not to be missed. The beautiful, historic Tampa Theatre will again host our one-of-a-kind Opening Night Gala. Call for Submissions
2010 Gasparilla International Film Festival Dear Filmmaker: Another festival season is upon us! We are accepting submissions now through December 15, 2009 for the 4th annual Gasparilla International Film Festival, taking place from Thursday, March 18 through Sunday, March 21, 2010. The early bird deadline is September 15, 2009; the regular deadline is November 15, 2009; and the late deadline is December 1, 2009. We are proud to partner with a new venue, CineBistro, in Tampa's hip and happening Hyde Park. This brand new theatre will bring film and fine dining together for an unforgettable fest! The parties will be bigger and the 4-day festival will be more filmmaker friendly than ever.
GIFF is truly an international festival, accepting film from all around the globe, along with our popular Cuban selections. Categories for 2010 include:
Horror Comedy Documentary International Young Filmmaker (under 25 years old) North American Drama Short Film Florida Focus Informative filmmaker panels and workshops and networking opportunities with industry leaders and film supporters, always a staple of our film festival, are all held together by our renowned parties and fiestas.
