G-FEST Environmental Film Festival 2012 Awards

At the closing ceremony of G-FEST, the 1st Slovenian International Environmental Film Festival that took place in the magical environment of Goričko Nature Park, the following awards were given:

TREE OF EDEN

The jury consisting of Leon Krpič, Aleša Valič and Vojko Anzeljc has decided that The Tree of Eden for Best Nature documentary  film goes to WWW-H / Why, Where, When - How?, directed by Jasna Hribernik.
Special mention: Mura: The Cradle of Life, directed by Jože Glažar.

The Honorary Tree of Eden for Lifetime Achievement was solemnly given to Mako Sajko who gave the charmed audience a rare opportunity to see his sometimes provocative (Where is the Iron Curtain) , sometimes lighthearted (Traditional Costume), sometimes frightening (Poison) or sad (Attention Suicidals), but always witty and to-the-point short documentaries with his personal introduction, giving even further insight into the making of the films and controversy which surrounded his work, causing him to stop making films in 1975 and his masterpieces to be withheld from public view for decades.

G-FEST JUNIOR

Main award, elected by the jury, went to Murska Sobota Elementary school No.2, for a film titled Štraf.
Audience award was given to Elementary school 1 Murska Sobota for Who Stole the Eggs.

PHOTO CONTEST "Human and Nature. Do We Cooperate?"

Photo exhibition has made a selection of more than 40 photos. Jury consisting of  Tomo Jeseničnik, Karel Holec and Lado Klar decided that the first prize of photo contest "Human and Nature. Do We Cooperate?" goes to photography entitled Fragile yet strong enough, made by Katja Prem from Elementary school Puconci in the Elementary School Category and to Zorana Norčič for Morning Mist in the Adults Category.

mTVfest

The award for the Best Tourist Videos of mTV Festival went to:
Elementary school Puconci, Elementary school Apače, Highschool of tourism and Hospitality Izola and Highschool Ivančna Gorica.
