International Film Festival

el Ojo cojo

REGULATION

1. Purpose - The International Film Festival el Ojo cojo is dedicated to short films and feature films, fiction, documentary and animation, with the aim to promote intercultural dialogue and integration of socially disadvantaged groups, disseminating quality films hardly to come to Spain, but mostly raising awareness of the various facets of reality, trying not fallling into clichés. Thus gradually the festival is intended as a field for meetings and discussions of projects of mutual interest.

2 Organization-It is organized by El Ojo Cojo, a NGO dedicated to the promotion of intercultural dialogue from Public Utility declared by the City of Madrid. As such, El Ojo cojo is a member of the Global Alliance for Cultural Diversity and the Anna Lindh Foundation.

The Festival, which this year will take place the second week of October, is independent and grant awards by the jury and the public.

3. Sections - will feature the following sections:

Official Selection in competition:

Fiction: length from 80 minutes.

Documentary: from 60 minutes

Official Selection of short films in competition:

Lifetime to 20 minutes.

(Films  received and not conforming to these characteristics, but outstanding in quality or evidential value, could be selected for display out of competition).

Monographic sections and cycles that offer outstanding films and cinematic level social engagement as well as aesthetic and discursive search, or relating to a particular reality. They may be grouped by country, theme and current, author, or other criteria adopted by management. They will have limited production date.

The films aspiring to awards must have been completed or released since 1 January 2014 and have not applied for the festival in previous years. Not impairment although positively that have not participated in other festivals.

4.Inscripciones - Open August 20 at 10: 30hrs and will close on January 2nd.

Films may only enroll its directors or with express written authorization for our festival by themselves. Registrations are not accepted by distributors without express authorization joined our festival by the director.

The invitations are directed only to  filmmakers.  No mailings will be accepted by distributors unless they make the registration fee for each film.

For the registration to be effective it is essential:

A) Upload the film to one of the platforms that appear at the end of regulation on the web

B) Pay the registration fee via Paypal or platforms elojocojo@gmail.com regular period:

Feature: 20 €

Shorts: 15 €

Once submitted, the list will have an affidavit and shall conclude that knows and accepts this Regulation.

Once informed of the screening shall send:

    • Code for embedding in web trailer

    • link to download:

      • poster

      • photography film

      • director of photography

      • Copy .mov exhibition subtitled Spanish (download only shorts) The digitized film (pen drive, memory, or DVD) file should be in. Mov and have a minimum resolution of  H264  (1080 pixels)  without encrypted code  to prevent them being copied and  WITHOUT WATERMARK  ( will be grounds for exclusion ).

  • The length films a screening copy .mov Spanish subtitles (SRT at least in Spanish)

PLEASE DO NOT send photos by e-mail or other documents that have specifically requested not to be sent by this means.

 5. Language - It is desirable that the films are presented in Castilian or subtitled in Castilian. If the version is not even spoken or subtitled in Spanish, select the copy  must  be subtitled in English and at the time of selection must be accompanied by dialogues in Spanish SRT.

6. Exhibits - Once submitted and selected, the movie may not be withdrawn from the program.

Exhibits within the framework of the Festival will take place in Madrid and Barcelona the third week of October in different rooms and alternative spaces as well as on the street, there will also be online functions and then as itinerant cultural spaces in Spain. Copies received will become part of the lame-eye video library. Can be displayed on cycles in the Cultural Center Sansueña eligible for alternative distribution of the lame eye.

8 The selected films in competition will have the opportunity to be purchased for display on national television or intervene in our editions on DVD. For this reason it is essential that each title be officially presented during the Festival, either by the Director or their representatives, if the director could not move.

9. Transport of copies - in any event  sending copies paid by the sender.

DVD copies, not to be returned.

If a copy is sent on film, at time of shipment, please inform the sender to the elojocojo@gmail.com email, providing an air waybill number, company used, flight number and date of shipment. Shipping costs, insurance from the place of issue borne by the film who enroll,

It should always indicate that the copy has no commercial value and declare a maximum value of U$ S 15 for customs purposes.

If a shipping charge of the festival will be held, will be returned to your destination.

All copies must be sent to the Festival with transportation costs and prepaid taxes. Shipments under the Festival will not be accepted.

The festival does not cover the cost of return of 35mm prints or other copies returned or materials.

10. informative and advertising material - The Festival must receive, invariably with the inscription then will not be accepted), the advertising material for each film consisting of: press kits, posters, and photographs of the authors, as well as a mini  trailer  on DVD multizone. It is desired in this way to provide the most information possible to international, local press and arouse the interest of the general public for each film.

* Failure to send this material is not limited, but benefits from the influx of public broadcasting and the film.

11. Invitations - The Festival will make the necessary contacts to facilitate the stay and tickets to the filmmakers who aspire to Jury prizes. These filmmakers, if requested in the period in which they are convened, will have the opportunity to present his film and make a call to the press, according to the possibilities that provide supports and sponsors each year.

12.-lame Difusión. Eye aims to the widest publicity and outreach to films submitted.

Local Recommend movies for theatrical distribution and DVD and can support you with marketing.

Eye lame also performs a traveling traveled with selections from the Cultural Festival Microcenter Sansueña different cultural spaces. It will also seek to facilitate the participation of the films at different festivals friends thus promoting knowledge of the work.

13. Seminars - purpose of the Festival is to facilitate discussion and exchange of cinematic experiences in an environment of cultural integration, for which seminars will be organized.

14. Screening - To be conducted by selected and endorsed by the festival itself professional.

15 Awards - Depending on confirmation of funding sources, the festival jury awarded ,:

Wink Best Film Award on mobile ....... ..................... ..................€ 500

Wink Award for best film on the subject ............ migrations provided € 500

If the jury saw fit, there may be special Winks consisting of certificates of recognition to the special qualities deemed noteworthy.

The diploma and prize money, if any, will be forwarded only to the principal.

The films, that have received a prize, agree to mention in all advertising, posters and press materials, adding the logo of the Festival and respecting the exact wording of the jury's decision, condictio sine qua non for the award creditor.

Indicators for the evaluation of the films:

- Reality narrated

- Impact of the topic addressed

- Originality of treatment

- Quality management

- Environment in which it was made and its difficulties

- Adversities to carry out

- Qualities of the script

- Artistic quality

- Technical quality

16 General Provisions - Registration is a participation agreement that the film implies acceptance of the conditions of this Regulation. For cases not provided, the decision will be the Festival.

17. The Festival will establish the order and the date of display of each film according to the showrooms.
