Treasure Coast Film Festival closes with "Nobelity"

"Nobelity" by award-winning filmmaker and screen veteran of Friday Night Lights and The Sopranos Turk Pipkin will screen during the closing festivities at the new Port Saint Lucie Civic Center on Saturday, January 31st.

Nobelity combines the insights of nine distinguished Nobel Laureates with a first-person view of world problems and the children who are most affected by them. Follow award-winning filmmaker Turk Pipkin's expedition to find answers to the world’s toughest questions as he travels across the United States, and in France, England, India and Kenya. The Distinguished Laureates of Nobelity include Desmond Tutu (Nobel Peace Prize, 1984.) and Sir Joseph Rotblat, (Nuclear Physicist & Disarmament Activist - Nobel Peace Prize, 1995). Tutu talks about the power of love and forgiveness, and the human capacity to accomplish great things; Rotblat, a contemporary of Einstein, who fifty years ago co-signed a letter with Rotblat to the world calling for an end to nuclear proliferation.

The screening will be followed by the awards gala. Dinner and entertainment will complete the evening, but not festival. On Sunday, enthusiast can enjoy a final opportunity to mingle with the filmmaker's at a luncheon hosted by Club Med at Sandpiper.

The Treasure Coast International Film Festival will be held January 29th-February 1st at various Treasure Coast venues. The Historic Sunrise Theatre will host the opening night film, Courting Condi and Filmmaker Reception. Other screenings will be taking place at the St. Lucie West IRSC Campus, the Fort Pierce Community Center and at Club Med Sandpiper.

The Treasure Coast International Film Festival's mission is to shine the spotlight on the sun-kissed Treasure Coast Film Industry. It is dedicated to the promotion of independent and foreign films as an art form and to bring films of artistic and cultural importance to the community.
At the Treasure Coast International Film Festival, the Filmmakers are the stars!
