The XV Odesa International Film Festival reveals the official poster

The XV Odesa International Film Festival, which will take place in Kyiv from July 12 to 20, unveiled this year's official poster.

"Today, Ukrainian cinema, like the entire country, is going through turbulent times. We do not yet know what Ukrainian cinema will be like after our Victory, but without knowledge of the past, it is impossible to build a successful future. That is why, on our 15th anniversary, we decided to delve into the history of Ukrainian cinematography, explore what it was, what inspired our directors, and try to predict what it will become. The coexistence of the past and the future on one plane is embedded in our poster," comments Anna Machukh, the general director of the Odessa International Film Festival.

She also adds that the OIFF has always been about not only cinema but also technology and innovation.

"For many years, business programs have been held within the OIFF, bringing together innovators, players in the tech industry, and representatives of various creative industries. We keep an eye on technological trends, and the main trend today is AI. At the same time, it is a trend of the future. Our festival keeps pace with the times and uses advanced technologies. Therefore, the OIFF 2024 poster was developed using artificial intelligence," says Anna Machukh.

The festival center for this year's film festival will be the iconic venue for the country's cinema, the House of Cinema.

"We decided to create a poster in a futuristic style, reflecting our Festival Center - the House of Cinema," says creative producer Dmytro Andrushchenko. "From hundreds of proposed AI options, we chose the one that reflects the meanings that are relevant to our country and our festival. I am confident that everyone will find something special in it. The development of artificial intelligence is now exciting almost everyone in the world, and it should not be feared because it is already part of our reality. Its impact on our lives depends on the meanings we put into our creations."
