The second Fabulous Independent Film Festival ready to launch

 THE FABULOUS INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL
Burns Court Cinemas, Saturday, August 18 and Sunday, August 19, 2012.

Scheduled to be held at Burns Court Cinemas in downtown Sarasota, on Saturday, August 18 and Sunday, August 19, the Fabulous Independent Film Festival will mark its second anniversary by presenting 6 feature length films and 6 shorts celebrating diversity in the LGBT community. In association with the Harvey Milk Festival, a non profit organization, the festival is organized by broken rules productions.  Tickets are $8, opening and closing night films are $10, available on www.fabulousiff.com and at Burns Court Cinemas on the days of the festival.
Films scheduled are SASSY PANTS, a wild satire of a teenaged girl who runs away from her dominantly cheerful mom to her gay dad's trailer home, now living with his martini-swilling, shorty-shorts-wearing boy toy boyfriend, a hilarious, grown up Haley Joel Osment (The Sixth Sense). NORTH SEA TEXAS, an arrestingly beautiful portrayal of a young boy's first love, from Belgium.  UNITED IN ANGER, A HISTORY OF ACT UP, an inspiring documentary about the birth and life of the AIDS activist movement, THE WISE KIDS, a delicate exploration of the coming out and coming of age in the bible belt, CLOUDBURST, a breezy and tender road movie starring Oscar winners Olympia Dukakis and Brenda Fricker as a pair of geriatric lesbians who hit the highway to get married. LOVE OR WHATEVER, a romantic comedy following Corey as his well planned life falls out of his control and he leans on his quirky lesbian sister for guidance.  Short films include THE COVER by our local boy wonder: Anthony Paull.

Watermark Media is a presenting sponsor, Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida, John and Janice Shelton and RCMoore Construction are Producer Level Sponsors. The complete list of sponsors is featured on the Fabulous IFF web site, www.fabulousiff.com.  The Fabulous IFF is welcoming sponsors at all levels.
