The Rogue Network growth is massive

Relativity Media, LLC (RML) announced today it has significantly increased its digital footprint with the consolidation of its entertainment oriented, online properties under The Rogue Network banner. Key components of this move have been the formation of a movie and entertainment advertising network, entitled ‘The Movie Network’ and the recent acquisition of ARTISTdirect.com and the ARTISTdirect Network.

“The formation of The Rogue Network and this acquisition expand our digital footprint in a very big way,” said Ryan Kavanaugh, CEO of Relativity Media. “The expansion of our network coupled with our growing presence as a content provider gives us a meaningful avenue to engage fans and syndicate our content. We believe that this also presents a unique marketing advantage for our films and a great target audience for companies who focus on entertainment marketing.”

The formation of The Rogue Network (including iamrogue.com and the 2010 acquisition of ARTISTdirect.com) presents enormous content syndication and marketing opportunities for Relativity, its ROGUE film properties, and brands searching for unique content integration partnerships – existing and planned content on the site features special sneak peaks, behind-the-scenes, and exclusive footage as well as promotional contests providing unique set, premiere, and concert access to winners. Relativity plans to expand The Rogue Network through continued development and execution of online partnerships.

According to the most recent comScore tracking numbers for May 2010, the combined entity (currently named “ARTISTdirect Rogue Network”) receives 34.1 million unique visitors per month worldwide with 14.2 million unique visitors per month in the US. The Movie Network is currently ranked # 9 in the ‘Movies’ category in the United States. The ARTISTdirect music network is ranked # 8 in the US and # 10 worldwide in the ‘music’ categories.

This move propels RML and The Rogue Network further into the digital entertainment space, in terms of developing new revenue, syndication and marketing platforms in support of its movie releases. RML leverages their unique ability to touch all stages of the film cycle – from financing and script development, to cast/crew selection to on-set production to release – to allow users to become a part of this process through various access points.
