Talent Ambassador – Aaron Kwok highlights Macau IFFAMIFFAM Talent Ambassador Aaron Kwok has shared his excitement ahead of participating in the 3rd International Film Festival and Awards • Macao in a new video introducing three films from this edition’s programme. Aaron is looking forward to seeing Vasan Bala’s The Man Who Feels No Pain from India, Danish director Gustav Moller’s thriller The Guilty, and Clean Up, the Korean drama from Manki Kwon. The three Competition films are part of a rich programme of over 50 films from 24 countries, which showcase the best of Asian and international cinema. Aaron Kwok comments “It’s my honour to be part of the much-anticipated festival which offers substantial support to emerging directors as a platform with comprehensive resources under the auspices of the Macao government. Their staunch support helps put the festival on the map for a wider audience across the globe while grooming new talent, such as directors, screenwriters and emerging filmmakers, which makes the greatest difference. These are the values of the festival which distinguishes us from the others. And as an ambassador I’d like to invite more cinephiles, emerging filmmakers and aspirants to participate in the festival.”
Speaking about the filmmakers behind his selection, Aaron said: “These up and coming directors bring diverse new visions and creativity to the industry. I can’t wait to meet many excellent industry people to continue the cultural exchange in Macao.”
Aaron stars in a second video of his own vision, showing off the vibrant Macao he loves. Macao is also paradise for a ‘foodie’ like Aaron, he says: “While in Macao to attend the Film Festival, I hope to indulge in the local cuisine; I love Macao’s Portuguese egg tarts, and especially the local hot pot.” The star mentions just two of the delicacies behind Macao’s designation as the UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy, a title that rewards the city’s centuries old significance as a cultural meeting point between East and West.
Tickets to films across all sections at The International Film Festival & Awards • Macao are available for purchase through the Macao Ticketing Network now.
