SVMA Announces a Sunnier, Starrier date for Arrangiarsi al Fresco

Dinner and a Movie at Muscardini Cellars

A Benefit Event for Sonoma Valley Museum of Art

Sunday, August 25 at 7pm

Join us at sunset, for the rescheduled event, Sunday, August 25 for a magical evening enjoying film, wine, pizza—all things Italia—and the art of living, when Sonoma Valley Museum of Art presents a picnic and special screening of the film Arrangiarsiunder the stars at Muscardini Cellars in Kenwood. Our special guests are Matteo Troncone, the film’s director and star, and Peter Coyote, veteran actor, producer, writer, and Arrangiarsi fan. The two will talk in a Q&A following the film.

Matteo Troncone begins this fascinating and philosophical first-person travelogue with no job, no relationship, and no home. While living in his VW van on the streets of San Francisco, he decides there is only one thing to do: trace his roots to Naples and learn the secret of Neapolitan pizza. Once there, he discovers the art of arrangiarsi, the process of arranging yourself to make something from nothing. We meet a colorful crew of characters, from street artists to pizza makers, who find a way to live and love in the most joyful ways, regardless of circumstance. This inspiring film combines a healthy smattering of foodie passion, little-known Italian history, and quirky Neapolitans to tell the tale of one man’s journey to find himself…and the greatest pizza on earth.

The event begins at 7pm with a Napoli-style dinner of wood-oven pizzas and salad prepared on site by Randy Martin of Vineyard Crust Company in a mobile wood-fired oven, imported from Italy, naturalmente! Complementing dinner will be Italian varietal wines by Michael Muscardini. Arrangiarsi (91 min) screens as the first stars come out, around 8:30pm. View the Trailer Here
