Surf Film Festival inside the tube

Surf Film Festival Make Waves
The 2nd annual Surf Film Festival will take place during the US Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach, California July 27-30th 2004. Big Red Productions who is responsible for bringing surf films back to the big screen is holding it's now annual Surf Film Festival the only one of its kind in the world. With the over 300,000 people who come to attend the largest surf contest in the United States in the daytime, it was only right to have the top surfers on the big screen at night.

With a top selection of the independent surf, skateboarding and other action sports films slated to play, it looks to have the crowds who love the surf to be satisfied both day and night. With the resent success of surf films RIDING GIANTS, Directed by Dogtown Zboys Stacy Peralta, the film that opened the Sundance Film Festival and last years blockbuster Artisan Entertainment STEP INTO LIQUID by writer/director Dana Brown, films on surfing have made the box-office mainstream.

The dedicated and hard work for Leslie and Dave Carlos executive directors of Big Red Productions has paid off as at each screening many of the filmmakers and surfers in the films will be on hand to add excitement to the crowd. Big Red has been presenting surf films to the big screen for the past three years and within the industry of actions sports films if you want a West Coast surf film shown, Big Red is the one to meet. During the events there will also be musicians/surfers entertaining, give-aways of some of the news surf equipment, autographs of top surfers, and parties to top it off.

Here are a few of the independent action sports, surf and skateboarding films scheduled to screen at the Festival. SECOND THOUGHTS by Timmy Turner Films, NEVER BEEN DONE – The Jon Comer Story, Director / Producer: Matthew J. Powers, THE KILL 7, Produced/Directed by Josh Pomer, TAMBA T.V. Produced/Directed by Joel Guy, NEXT IN LINE Produced/Directed by Jessie Marley, THE RIDE, BamMan Productions, Laird Hamilton, Jane Kachmer and Leslie Iwerks, Directed by Leslie Iwerks and Don King, SOMEWHERE ANYWHERE EVERYWHERE Produced by Globe, Edited/Directed by George Manzanilla, A.K.A. GIRL SURFER Produced by Gallaz

Presented by Big Red Productions and SOUTH BAY TOYOTA and all screenings to take place at the Mann’s Pierside Pavilion 6 Theaters, located on the corner of Pacific Coast Why and Main Street in Huntington Beach, Ca. All of this will be taking place during the US Open. Tickets are available at the door. For more information go to the website www.bigredprod.com see you at the beach
