Montreal World Film Grand Prix award went to Off Screen

The World Film Festival – Montreal 2005 wrapped this Monday evening followed by the screening of the French film “Camping à la Ferme” by Jean-Pierre Sinapi

The Grand Prix of the Americas went to Off Screen by Pieter Kuijpers but Kamataki from Claude Gagnon stole the show winning 5 awards for best directing, the Fipresci prize, the Oecumenic prize, the audience award and the ward for most popular Canadian movie.

Gagnon is a regular from the festival (still the only Canadian director to ever win the The Grand Prix of the Americas with Kenny back in 1996.

The Festival Competition Jury was headed by Greek filmmaker Theo Angelopoulos, other member of the prestigious jury include:
Silvio Caiszzi (director from Chile), Amira Casar (French actress), Anna Karina (French actress and director), Vicente Molina Fox (spanish writer), Jorge Persson (director of photography) and Johan Bellefleur (moviegoer)

The Grand Prix of the Americas goes to

ADRIANA OZORES for the film HEROÏNA by Gerardo Herrero (Spain)

Best Actor :
JAN DECLEIR for the film OFF SCREEN by Pieter Kuijpers (Netherlands/Belgium)

Best Screenplay :
