LA latino fest launches drawing for its audience.

Adding on to its tradition of recognizing the best Latin films during the annual film festival, this year the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival (LALIFF) will bestow its audience with a prize through Lotería LALIFF, a lottery contest where the public will have to match the eight images that appear on each lottery carton with its corresponding definition. The completed carton will be entered in a drawing that will take place during the closing ceremony of the festival.

Clues to each corresponding definition will be distributed throughout the city of Los Angeles —on MTA buses, on signs posted on lamppost and throughout the Egyptian Theatre, in Blockbuster stores, ads in local and national newspapers, as well as trailers aired during the festival, among other places. The lottery cartons with the correct matching image and definition will be entered in the drawing for a chance to win a trip for two to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, courtesy of Mexicana Airlines. The definitions are: (1) La Llamada, (2) El Lugar, (3) La Inspiración (4) La Pasión, (5) El Deseo, (6) El Productor, (7) El Director and (8) El Final.

“We have organized this contest as a means to engage our audience in upholding LALIFF’s mission to promote awareness and distribution of Latin cinema in the U.S.,” said Marlene L. Dermer, founder of the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival.

LALIFF is also launching a brand-new website, www.latinofilm.org, where people can find information about the festival including: schedule, photos, map of access to the Egyptian Theater, press credential forms, as well as commercials with Edward James Olmos, Lupe Ontiveros y Judy Reyes, among others.
