Greenblatt and Bresler join Philadelphia film society

The Philadelphia Film Society, presenters of both the Philadelphia Film Festival and the Philadelphia International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival are delighted to announce two dynamic new appointments to the Society’s permanent management team; new Executive Director J. Andrew Greenblatt and new Managing Director Eric Bresler.

New Executive Director J. Andrew Greenblatt is a native of Philadelphia and a graduate of George Washington University (B.A., M.A.) and American University (J.D.). With several years of solid film industry experience as the Managing Partner in OG Consulting and President of Film 101 Productions, LLC; Greenblatt brings PFS considerable skills in talent, studio, and investor relation and development. After being involved in both festivals as a patron and supporter, Greenblatt is excited to bring year-round presence and industry visibility to his new role. With a solid network of contacts and connections, Greenblatt is set to energize both Festivals and bring new talent and visitors to two of the East Coast’s premier film events.

"Andrew is an outstanding addition to PFS' executive team, and his extensive experience will definitely be a terrific plus for our current and future members," said PFS Board Co-Chair Jonathan Spadaford. "His commitment to making our film programming a success is ideal as we build an exciting experience around film in Philadelphia."

Born in Watertown, New York, new Managing Director Eric Bresler came to Philadelphia to attend Drexel University. After graduating with a degree in Film & Video, Bresler began a career in film/video production work while maintaining his own Philadelphia-based indie record label. He has also done a great deal of special event film and music programming for various venues throughout the Northeast United States. Bresler brings a strong background in project management, event coordination, and revolutionary thinking to his new position with the Philadelphia Film Society.

“PFS nurtures films and filmmakers as forces for artistic expression on diversity and understanding,” explained PFS Board Co-Chair Jack Adler. “The hiring of Eric is a committment by us to maintaining the caliber of leadership that will ensure the Society realize all opportunities to grow as a significant and voice in the Philadelphia region.”
