Film Sales Support (FSS) for Sundance Film Festival

Film Sales Support (FSS) for Sundance Film Festival
(19-29 January 2006)

Film Sales Support (FSS) kicks off in 2006 with the support of 11 European films at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival in the US. The support comprises an eclectic mix of feature films and documentaries from Denmark, Italy, Spain, the UK, France and Germany. Celluloid Dreams will receive financial incentives to promote Allegro by Christoffer Boe, I for India by UK director Sandhya Suri and Factotum by Norwegian director Bent Hamer. Further FSS supported companies include MK2, representing 13 Tzameti by Gela Babluani and, for the first time, Gaumont, representing The Science of Sleep by Michel Gondry, Bavaria Film International, promoting Into Great Silence by Philip Gröning, French production company Lamplighter Films with their film, By the Ways, a Journey with William Eggleston by Vincent Gérard and Cédric Laty and First Hand Films with The Short Life of José Antonio Gutierrez. Wild Bunch, represents Cargo by Clive Gordon, Fulcrum TV promotes Black Gold by Marc and Nick Francis and the German sales outfit The Match Factory promotes Madeinusa by Claudia Llosa (see below for list of films).

FSS is an initiative of European Film Promotion. It is financially supported by the MEDIA Programme of the European Union. In 2006, FSS’ administrative costs are backed by the German State Minister for Culture and the Media and by EFP’s Spanish member organisation, Instituto de la Cinematografia y de las Artes Audiovisuales, ICAA, the UK Film Council and by the Nordic Film & TV Fund.
