EcoArtsAwards.com Launches a New Arts Competition

$1,000 cash will be awarded to the most inspired 'ecology' theme in six creative categories: Songwriting, Photography, Fine Art, Short Videos, Literature and Functional Art.

$1,000 cash will be awarded to the most inspired 'ecology' theme in six creative categories: Songwriting, Photography, Fine Art, Short Videos, Literature and Functional Art. Eco Arts Awards is an annual competition that is urging all artists to use ecology as a theme in their art. The primary criteria to win the $1,000 cash prize in those six distinct creative categories will be based on the entrants inspired innovative interpretation of that theme.

"While ecology is being both disparaged and romanticized in culture it precariously dances on the edge of becoming yet another polarized issue which obscures its true depth and scope. We can't let that happen," says Kathryn Edwards, founder of Eco Arts Awards. The very definition of ecology is so elegant: “The interrelationship between all organisms and their environment.” Eco Arts Awards is dedicated to promoting the importance of that understanding through these six creative mediums: Songwriting, Short Videos, Literature, Fine Art, Photography, and Functional Art (Repurposed Materials in Art & Design).

Will Eco Arts Awards accept a simple love song? Yes, but how does love or heartache affect the overall sociology of the environment? Eco Arts Awards mission is to attract established, as well as emerging artists. With its highly distinguished panel of jurors success is inevitable.

The deadline to enter is November 30th, 2011, and costs $30 per work. Eco Arts Awards will be announcing the ten finalists in each category early in the new year, and the winner, no later than April, 2012. Please visit their website for guidelines, and information on its jurors. It appears an creative ecological evolution is on its way!
