Downtown LA: Forget the Prozac, come on, get Happy!

Forget the Prozac, come on, get Happy!
You’d better shake off the straight jacket today!
Shout hallelujah, come on, get happy!
Throw the protective head gear away!
Downtown LA will never be the same!

This weekend the first ever LA Comedy Shorts Film Festival rolls out the red carpet at the newly renovated Downtown Independent Theater located at 251 S. Main St., Los Angeles.

This four-day comedic extravaganza was founded by the following funnies Gary Anthony Williams (Artistic Director, Boston Legal, Boondocks), Jeannie Roshar (Festival Director, Comedy Central, Google Me, Hookers Inc.) and Ryan Higman (Festival Producer), who decided that pooling their talents would result in a jammed pack fun-fest, full of non-stop panels, parties and films. For you Twits who Twitter, films run no longer than thirty-minutes, short enough to accommodate Twittaddicts and any other attention deficit disorders.

Expected carpet strollers this weekend include Tall-And-Worth-The-Climb Aisha Tyler, Luke Skywalker a.k.a. Mark Hamill (Star Wars), Laraine Newman, (SNL) Regina King (Jerry Maguire), Mindy Sterling (Austin Powers), Keegan-Michael Key, Michael McDonald, Ike Barinholtz and Phil LaMarr (MADtv), Cedric Yarbrough, Carlos Alazraqui and Wendi-McLendon-Covey (Reno 911), Jill Talley and Aaron McGruder (Boondocks) Dana Snyder (Aqua Teen Hunger Force’s) Linwood Boomer (Malcolm In The Middle), Seth Morris (Funny or Die), Tara Strong (Powerpuff Girl’s) Tom Kenny (Spongebob), Mindy Sterling (Austin Powers), Ace Man Adam Carolla will walk, not cleaning the carpet and host the Closing Night with Commie Honoree Bobcat Goldthwait.

Industry panels or “Famous People Talking About Sh*t” will certainly be one of the highlights along with elbow rubbing and LOL schmoozing at cool parties. See ya there!
