Dok Leipzig 2007 prepares to celebrate the 50th edition

DOK Leipzig, the International Leipzig Festival for Documentary und Animated Film, celebrates its 50th edition with numerous innovations from 29 Oct. to 04 Nov. 2007. You can submit all new documentary and animated films for the official festival programme and the DOK Market until 28 July.

Founded in1955, DOK Leipzig is the biggest German and one of the leading international festivals for documentary and animated film. It offers a top-class programme with the best new productions from all over the world. It is an inspiring place of encounter and exchange for filmmakers, producers, distributors, commissioning editors, and journalists worldwide, as well as for its enthusiastic audience. As festival for artistic documentary and animated film, it offers an inspiring environment for the discovery of individual styles, artistic visions, courageous approaches and outstanding cinematic skills.

- 4 competition sections with prize monies totalling 58,500 €
- NEW: International Young Documentary Talents Competition ‘Generation DOK’
- 200 documentary films and 200 animation films from 50 countries, selected from a total of 2,400 submissions (2006)
- Special programmes 2007: comprehensive retrospective on 50 years DOK Leipzig including the best from 50 years of film and festival history as well as films formerly prohibited to be shown at Leipzig (organised by the Federal German Film Archive and DOK Leipzig); Paradise in Documentary; 10 years ARTE’s La Lucarne and much more

2.2. INTERNATIONAL DOK LEIPZIG CO-PRODUCTION MEETING
