Direct From the Mailroom announces its premier event

“Direct From the Mailroom,” a screening event showcasing the films, music videos, and spec commercials of assistants working in the entertainment industry, will be holding its premiere at The Forbidden City in Hollywood, CA on Thursday, December 8th.

Cocktails and mingling will begin at 6:30 PM, followed by an hour-long screening at 8 PM. After the screening, attendees are encouraged to stay on for a KISS FM promotional party, also hosted at The Forbidden City.

“As an assistant working in the entertainment industry, I’ve come across a number of other assistants who have made films and want a place to show their work in Los Angeles,” said Direct From the Mailroom co-founder Peter Siesennop. “Film festivals are a great route, of course, but we thought our event would be a more intimate setting, a wonderful way for those assistants to see what kind of work their peers are doing,” elaborated Kim Rome, another co-founder of the event.

We encourage anyone in the entertainment industry to attend. The public is also welcome.

David Appelbaum is the writers’ assistant on the Fox drama The OC. His short Adios, Papitas Fritas will be shown.

Peter Siesennop works as an assistant to music video, commercial, and feature film director Peter Care. His short The Break will be shown as well.

Kim Rome is an actor, who stars in Adios, Papitas Fritas.
