24th January 2018: London, UK - World travel clothing brand, Craghoppers today launched The Craghoppers’ Film Prize. Aimed at attracting entries from short-form filmmakers, this is the start of a long-term initiative where the brand will support filmmakers, who have traditionally been overlooked, by offering one of the largest cash prizes of its type in the world.

Launched today at London’s Somerset House, The Craghoppers’ Film Prize was presented by Director, Joanne Black and MD, Jim McNamara, alongside partners, Discover Film. Leading directors, producers and filmmakers gathered to hear about the prize and student bursary fund.

Craghoppers in conjunction with its partner Discover Film, which currently run the successful Discover Film Awards, will recognise students and filmmakers by awarding significant cash prizes. Winning student entries will be rewarded at both the April and October Discover Film Awards in London, as well as two other major first and second cash prizes totalling £34,000.

Joanne Black, Director of Craghoppers said: “As leaders in a competitive outdoor clothing market, we are delighted to be working closely with emerging talent and supporting this new generation of content creators. We want to recognise them by investing significantly in their bursaries as well as considerable prize funds. Supporting The Arts is an important strategic decision for us as a brand.
