Animacam Awards: International Festival Animation On Line,

Animacam, International Festival Animation On Line, closed its First Edition the past December 21, winters solstice, spreading in www.animacam.tv
the Winners 2008 of the 11 awarded movies.

From June the 23 until October the first we had travelled together an intense road. With more than 75.000 visits at the website and the participation of 164 films coming from 33 countries (Saudit Arabia, Germany, Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Brazil, Chile, Croatia, Egypt, Spain, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Holland, Hungary, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Malaysia, México, Peru, Portugal, Rumania, Russia, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Uruguay, USA, Venezuela) we made together the first steps. Between the awarded films we observed a great variety of styles and animation techniques: from the 2D more traditional until the 3D, animation with send, plasticine, stop-motion or flash.

As an example of the cultural diversity and the expressive richness of our “virtual pilgrims”, Internet Users from 43 countries (Saudit Arabia, Germany, Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Brazil, Chile, Canada, Colombia, Comoro Islands, Croatia, Egypt, Spain, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Holland, Hungary, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Panama, Peru, Portugal, Rumania, Russia, Senegal, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Uruguay, USA, Venezuela) had made deserving, through their vote, the 2.000€ awards to each one of the following movies:

For its artistic quality and great sensitivity treating waters theme from its more dramatic point of view.

3. NATURAL GALIZIA: "FAO, Giornata Mondiale Alimentazione" of Donato Di Carlo and Dadomani. Italy-2007.

For its thematic referred to the decisive importance of the feeding and health for humanity.

4. ENCOURAGE TO READ: "Baba Yaga" de Maryna Shchipak y Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. Ucrania-2008.

For its work based on tales and legends from the popular culture of the countries from Eastern Europe.

5. CAMPUS STELLAE: "Space Alone" de Ilias Sounas. Greece-2007.

Due to the lack of animated films with explicit contents related with the Way of Saint Jacques, in this first Edition, the Organization of the Festival had decided to give this special award to the movie named above, for the contents that relate it with travel, friendship, world confines, the search and the finding.
