Martin Scorsese Masterclass in Cannes

Andy X: 25th anniversary of his passing

In February 1987, Andy Warhol checked himself anonymously into New York Hospital for a routine gall bladder operation. As he lay recovering from this standard procedure, the nurse who was meant to watch over him fell asleep reading a bible. Thus neglected, Andy Warhol died and entered the land of legend.
25 years later film-maker Jim Sharman, writer Stephen Sewell and composer Basil Hogios interweave verse, song and imagery into a unique 40-minute exploration of this great artist’s life, death and legacy. With Andy Warhol every yes contained a no and every beginning an end. Welcome to the mysterious and wonderful world of ANDY X.

Major Australian Film Festivals have joined BigPond Adelaide Film Festival (Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra) to support the online release of ANDY X.

Subscribers have the opportunity to be amongst the first people in the world to watch the film in advance of its official premiere on the anniversary of Andy Warhol’s death on 22 February.
For the preview screening, Jim Sharman will introduce the film and a specially recorded conversation with Jim Sharman and curator and critic Richard Kuipers will follow the 40-minute film. Associate Producer David Harmon, Director Jim Sharman, and others will then be online for a live interactive text based Q&A enabling people to ask questions.

DATE: Saturday 18 February
TIME: From 8.00pm CST, 8.30pm EST until 12midnight EST
WHERE: Andy X website
COST: USD$6.99 (for the preview and online release)
If you are unable to watch on Sat 18th, you can watch here along with the rest of the world on 22 February. The same cost of USD$6.99 will apply, however this won't include the intro and Q&A elements.
If you experience technical difficulties please email support@andyxthemovie.com
