Advisory board for German Films newly elected

The six members of the advisory board were newly elected on the occasion of the shareholders assembly of German Films Service & Marketing GmbH in Munich in January 2007.

Alfred Huermer was confirmed as the chairman of the advisory board. Huermer, board member of the Association of New German Feature Film Producers (AG Neue Deutsche Spielfilmproduzenten), has been the advisory board chairman of German Films since January 1, 2003.

Dr. Klaus Schaefer, managing director of FilmFernsehFonds Bayern, was newly elected to the advisory board. Michael Schmid-Ospach, managing director Filmstiftung Nordrhein-Westfalen, has retired from the advisory board. The FilmFernsehFonds Bayern and the Filmstiftung Nordrhein-Westfalen are shareholders of German Films on behalf of the regional film funds and, as previously agreed, take turns every two years to sit on the advisory board.

Also elected were Ulrike Schauz, head of the film department at the office of the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media (BKM), Peter Dinges, board member of the German Federal Film Board (FFA), Antonio Exacoustos as a representative of the Association of German Film Exporters (Verband Deutscher Filmexporteure) and Michael Weber as a representative of the Association of German Feature Film Producers (Verband Deutscher Spielfilmproduzenten).

In 2004, the four shareholders of German Films (the Association of German Feature Film Producers, the Association of New German Feature Film Producers, the Association of German Film Exporters, the German Federal Film Board) were joined by another six shareholders: the German Documentary Association (AG Dokumentarfilm), the German Short Film Association (AG Kurzfilm), the Association of German Television Producers (Bundesverband Deutscher Fernsehproduzenten), Stiftung Deutsche Kinemathek, FilmFernsehFonds Bayern and Filmstiftung NRW.
