11th Annual EROS Film Festival coming sooon!

11th Annual EROS Film Festival : Wednesday, Nov. 4 – Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009
at Cinestudio at Trinity College, 300 Summit St., Hartford, CT
Ticket Prices: $8 general admission; $7 students & seniors; FREE for Trinity Student & Staff with proper ID

Out Film CT, organizer of the CT Gay & Lesbian Film Festival, and EROS (Encouraging Respect Of all Sexualities), the Trinity College student organization, present the 11th EROS Film Festival from Nov. 4th through the 8th including 4 evening and 2 matinee programs. As always this Film Festival will feature an eclectic mix of films and documentaries, old favorites and exciting new works that will appeal to all film lovers. Here are some highlights. The full schedule will be released shortly:

Little Ashes
Dir. Paul Morrison, 2009, UK, 112 min
In the midst of the repression and political unrest of pre-Spanish Civil War, eccentric artist Salvador Dalí and renowned poet and revolutionary Federico García Lorca find their artistic and sexual freedom. The two form a bond challenged by their fierce ambitions, their friends, the struggle between a love for Spain and a love for each other.

Hannah Free
Dir. Wendy Jo Carlton, 2009, USA, 88 min
Starring the iconic Sharon Gless (Queer as Folk, Cagney & Lacey) in a tremendous performance, Hannah Free is a feature film about the lifelong love affair between an independent spirit and the woman she calls home. Weaving between past and present, the story reveals how two women maintained their love affair despite a marriage, a world war, infidelity, and family denial.

And Then Came Lola
Dirs. Ellen Seidler & Megan Siler, 2009, USA, 70 min
In this sexy, lesbian romp and festival favorite, a talented, but distracted photographer, Lola, on the verge of success in both love and work, could lose it all if she doesn’t make it to a crucial meeting on time.

Patrik, Age 1.5
Dir. Ella Lemhagen, 2008, Sweden, 98 min, In Swedish with English subtitles
Goran and Sven are the perfect gay couple; they have a beautiful house in the suburbs, a solid relationship, a home full of love and warmth. Newly approved for adoption, they believe that baby Patrik, age 1.5, is on his way. One tiny decimal mistake later, they find themselves saddled with a 15-year-old homophobe….who may have a criminal past.

Out Film CT is a nonprofit cultural organization dedicated to presenting outstanding LGBT cinema and other theatrical events throughout the year, culminating in the 10-day Connecticut Gay & Lesbian Film Festival held each May/June in Hartford. As Connecticut's longest-running film festival, it has become a distinctive fixture in our state’s cultural landscape, bringing the community together to introduce, celebrate and rediscover the ideas and values that make the LGBT community unique.
