Four Hot Miami Film LocationsThanks to its stunning landscape, photogenic art deco architecture and awesome natural lighting all year round, Miami is one of the most popular spots in the world for filming TV shows and movies. From film classics such as Scarface to massive TV hits like Miami Vice, there have been several well-loved films and shows produced and put together in Miami’s diverse, vibrant setting. We’ve put together a list of some of the most famous locations – do you recognize any of the movies or TV shows that they appear in?
#1. Lummus Park:In Alvin and the Chipmunks: Road Trip, Alvin, Simon, and Theodore’s parent Dave wants to propose to his new girlfriend in Miami, so the chipmunks head to Miami to try and stop the proposal. In addition to the numerous shots of yachts and pool parties, the movie also shot on location at Lummus Park in South Beach. Located just at the edge of South Pointe, Lummus Park is a great movie location with stunning oceanfront views, plenty of greenery, and some great activities to take part in such as yoga, roller blading, and volleyball. #2. Vizcaya Museum and Gardens:In Bad Boys 2, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence reunite as cop buddies to shoot a typical Vice City themed drug movie. The movie features plenty of hair-raising car chasing scenes along the MacArthur Causeway, views of Biscayne Bay and downtown Miami, and shots in the Mandarin Oriental on Brickell Key. Tapia’s house was shot at the historic Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, which is the European-style estate of James Deering in real life. And, the multi-million mega-mansion that they blew up in the movie was a real house located in Delray Beach that was blown up for real during filming. #3. Fontainebleau Miami Beach:Scarface was filmed in locations in both Miami and California, but the famous chainsaw scene took place on Ocean Drive, Miami. There are many other Miami locations to look out for in this film too, with Tony Montana filmed speaking on a payphone on the MacArthur Causeway, and the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, where Manny and Tony go to pick up girls by the luxurious pool. The Bodyguard, starring Whitney Houston, is another film where this famous Miami hotel served as a location. #4. Ocean Drive:Ocean Drive is a popular Miami film location, appearing in several hit movies and TV shows. In Step Up Revolution, Ocean Drive was ‘transformed into what some are describing as a public disturbance’ with scenes showing break dancers stopping traffic by bouncing off colorful vintage cars whilst blasting music from stereo speakers. With palm trees decking one side and art deco buildings on the other, it’s no surprise that Ocean Drive has been scouted as a prime movie and TV show location by Miami video production companies more than once; the neon-lit popular street was used for filming the first season of Dexter and is every bit as crowded both on and off the camera. These are just some of the best movies and TV shows that were filmed on set in Miami. Which is your favorite? 17.01.2019 | Bruno's blog Cat. : FILM
