Berlinale 71 Film Selection: Competition and Berlinale SpecialVideo Presentation on February 11, 2021, at 11 am (CET)
Executive Director Mariette Rissenbeek will introduce the format of this year’s festival once again. Artistic Director Carlo Chatrian will then present the films selected for the Competition and Berlinale Special. Please note: Mariette Rissenbeek will hold the presentation in German and Carlo Chatrian in English. The English translation of her presentation will be available on the website, once the video starts. The English subtitles of the video will be made available on February 12, 2021. Competition Reshaping Cinematic Forms
Out of the films invited, the majority come from artists who have already been at the festival. The range of topics is typically very broad and tackles currently relevant subjects. More importantly each film questions the form it opts for. In total there are 15 films, two of which are first features, which will compete for the Golden Bear and the Silver Bears.
