If someone is looking for target audience female, millennial, middle income well Tulipani and 55 Steps are the perfect match !
After our tulips raid in Toronto and huge successes and standing ovations on many festivals since then, it showed us that the audience more than liked this fairy tale movie, directed by the
academy winning director Mike van Diem.
The movie takes the audience to the deep south of Italy. With lot´s of laughter and tears in the eyes it is - a feel good movie -
Tulipani was also selected by the Chicago Film Festival, opened the Dutch Filmfestival in Utrecht, won Best Foreign Movie at the Filmfestival of Siena in Italy and won audience award at the Black Nights in Tallinn, was at the Rio Filmfestival etc. and premiers at the West Coast USA in Santa Barbara in the coming weeks. Tulipani • is a comedy drama centered around the strong- minded Dutch farmer, Gauke (Gijs Naber), who, after losing his farm during the floods of 1953, is determined to never have wet socks again. In pursuit of his quest, Gauke cycles to the sizzling hot South of Italy to start a new life on the outskirts of a small village in Puglia. Gauke´s fairylike trek and miraculous tulip trade, combined with his passionate love-life and turbulent scuffles with the dubious local business practices, raise him to a legendary local hero status - only to then suddenly disappear. Thirty years later, the young Canadian woman Anna (Ksenia Solo), embarks on her own personal journey of discovery to uncover the truth of the past. There she finds love along the way, while skirting a possible criminal record with the local police inspector (Giancarlo Giannini)
