The Business will close Edimburg Film FestSet in the gaudy, Thatcherite 1980s, this underworld yarn - a confident follow-up to Love's acclaimed Football Factory- follows the adventures of Frankie (Danny Dyer), a decent, if naïve lad from South London, who after carrying a suitcase filled with cash to Malaga, finds himself seduced by the lifestyle of the various petty crims living there. Taken under the wing of Charlie, he prospers - but temptation beckons, in the barely-dressed form of Carly (Georgina Chapman), who also happens to be the girlfriend of Charlie's psychotic partner Sonny. And Charlie, meanwhile, is doing a little too much of his namesake... Swaggering, rude, and funny as f***, this tale of friendship and betrayal looks terrific, boasts the 80s soundtrack of your dreams, and kicks serious butt. 25.08.2005 | anne's blog Cat. : CDATA Danny Dyer Film Georgina Chapman London Malaga The Business XML

(anne) Ever since he read Bernardo Atxaga’s book Obabakoak, published in 1988, Montxo Armendáriz had wanted to take it to the big screen. But the complexity of the narration, with its variety of people and stories, drove him to bide his time until coming up with the perfect way to link the different aspects in a movie faithful to the spirit and soul of the work View my profile Send me a message |
