Amazonas Film Festival

Celebrities of Brazilian cinema such as Otávio Augusto, Gracindo Junior, Marcos Paulo, Toni Garrido, Leticia Sabetella, Gisele Fraga, Bruno Garcia, Zelito Viana, Antonio Pitanga and the actress Ana Lucia Torres as guest of honor, among others, will be on the red carpet, opposite the Amazonas Opera House this Saturday the 3rd at 6:45 pm, interacting with the audience.

Everything for the opening ceremony of the 9th edition of Amazonas Film Festival, which takes place in the Amazonas Opera House at 07:30 pm. The Amazonas Film Festival will take place until 9 November, with a diverse and free of charge schedule.

The starting party of the event will be hosted by the actor and entertainer Carlos Casagrande, in which a tribute will be paid to the Brazilian filmmaker Zelito Viana, president of honor of Amazonas Film Festival. During the ceremony will also be shown the movie "Colegas", by Marcelo Galvão.

The 9th edition of Amazonas Film Festival will have more than 5 thousand hours of films exhibition. There will be a total of 37 productions in the competitive exhibition, for a prize of R$ 33 thousand, in addition to 144 movies in the side exhibition. All that in free of charge presentations both in the Amazonas Opera House and in the Palace of Justice, as well as Guarany Movie Theater, Luiz Cabral Theater or even at bus terminals, five cities in the interior of Amazonas state and even in rural communities such as Pau Rosa.

According to the governor of the State of Amazonas, Omar Aziz, the Amazonas Film Festival comes to its ninth edition still fulfilling the role of generating opportunities for the talents of our land. "The investment in training young filmmakers from Amazonas state in producing their own movies began with the creation of the festival. We are on the right path," he says.
