CHILDRENS FILMS. NOTHING BUT SERIOUSLY - Unique film screenings for children of 10+ will be held at "Kinopanorama" cinema (19, Shota Rustaveli str) from 20th to 27th of October. The "Molodist for Kids" international competition program include eight of the best and the latest movies for children produced in Ukraine and abroad. A special children's jury will evaluate them.

GERMAN WAVE – NEW GERMAN CINEMA - Participants of Karlovy Vary, San Sebastián and Rotterdam Film Festivals.

The program will open with Thomas Arslan’s “Gold” starring Nina Foss, and continue with daring “Love Steaks” by Jacob Lass, new film by Florian Flicker after a 12-year break “Crossing Boundaries”, and “Sources of Life” by Oskar Roehler known for his previous work “No Place To Go”.

10 OSCAR NOMINEES AT MOLODIST IFF    including “The Past” by Iranian Oscar-winning director Asghar Farhadi starring Bérénice Bejo; Dutch “Borgman” by Alex van Warmerdam that competed for Palme d’Or at this year’s Cannes Film Festival; Swedish "Eat, sleep, die" by Gabriela Pichler that won the Audience Award at Critics’ Week of the Venice Film Festival; and Slovakia’s candidate for Oscar “My Dog Killer” by Mira Fornay that won the Tiger Award at Rotterdam IFF.

ALTERNATIVE COMPETITION PROGRAM "SUNNY BUNNY"- At the 43rd Molodist IFF "Sunny Bunny" will become a complete competition program with its own jury. The program includes films by well-known directors like Xavier Dolan, Bruce LaBruce and Małgorzata Szumowska, as well as brand new names in cinema.

SPECIAL EVENT - Ulrich Seidl’s photo exhibit and retrospective at Molodist IFF

On October 19-27 photographs by the special guest of Molodist IFF, Austrian director Ulrich Seidl, will be exhibited at the Art Arsenal.

Ulrich Seidl will bring to Kiev 42 photographs dedicated to his «paradisal» trilogy. The very same trilogy will be shown at the Molodist IFF as a part of the world's first complete retrospective of the director: Ulrich Seidl. Total Retrospective.

Sexuality, spirituality, physicality - three women from a European family are looking for different ways of how to satisfy their hidden desires. 42 original photographs on the verge of voyeurism, compassion, tragedy, and comedy, will showcase the criticism of the consumer society, loneliness and rejection of the person in the modern world that is clearly articulated in the acclaimed Paradise trilogy

Admission free for accredited guests and participants. The Festival will provide transportation from Bakkara hotel to the Art Arsenal , and from the Art Arsenal to  to the Ukraine Palace where  the official opening ceremony will take place). We will keep you updated in the next Festival newsletters. The detailed information will also be available in your  Welcome Letter and Festival Guide which you will receive upon arrival.
