Siraj Syed reviews Incarnate: This Entity is an Omen for the Exorcist
In cinema, as in most other industries, if you don’t innovate, you are dead. Innovation is an essential part of the survival kit, and if new genres are proving elusive, makers must, nevertheless, try to reformat the template. So, if you can’t re-incarnate, at least ‘incarnate’. A good example of eschewing supernatural tropes and plying atypical ropes instead is Incarnate. That it stumbles occasionall...
The concept is simple. 50 videos. 50 people. 1 goal : Tell the stories of everyday black people. In a media landscape where the stories of people of color aren’t told often or accurately, the series sets out to tell the stories of black people within the Dallas-Fort Worth community - in their own words.
Films that...Entertain...Educate...InspireThe 2016 Denton Black Film Festival (DBFF) will showcase films that entertain, educate, inspire, and communicate Black American cultural themes to the broader community as expressed through movies and art that reflect cultural mindset and changes through several generations of film-making. “Dope” will be screened during the festival, which I person...

Director: Nikolaus von Uthmann.
The most dramatic race since BEN HUR! Sweet Granny is walking to her favorite spot at a lake when she gets overtaken by Mrs Messala. The old ladies maneuver their wheeled walking-aides in a breathtaking, funny but violent snail-pace race.
Black humour + whacky comedy underlined by subtle social commentary, as if Monty Pythons had teamed up with Mike Leigh.
The film has already been shown at festivals all over the world, and has won the Gold Remi Award of the WorldFest Houston (category: Best Original Comedy Short), and the Audience Award of the Kino Knock Out Festival in Altkirch, France.

He offered to assist us with the play. David was not yet inter...
