Dear Filmmakers,
the Independent Days filmfest acts as a platform for independent filmmakers, that produce art-house and independent movies.
Low-budget and no-budget short and long-playing films can be submitted. We have no specific guidelines regarding running time, genre or format.
The Low-Budget Award, sponsored by the Cultural Donation of the Sparkasse Karlsruhe, is donated with 1000 Euro, the winner in the No-Budget Contest wins "The Golden ID".
Movies over 30 minutes of screening time may be placed in our festival program but not in the competition.

"Covariance" was accepted into the F_AQ Festival del Cinema dell'Aquila in L'Aquila, Italy for November 23-26, 2011. This is the fourth festival acceptance for "Covariance" on three continents.

"Independent Days" is an international low and no budget filmfest without any restriction due to runtime, genre or format. Films must cost less than 2500 Euro per Minute of runtime.
Entry deadline for the Independent Days 10|Contest is 31.10.2009
(date of post mark), further films (without contest) can be accepted
for the festival programm till deadline 31.12.2009.
The festival will be held from 21th to 25nd April 2010 in Karlsruhe (Germany).
Terms of Participation (short version):
Terms of participation in general remain as in the years before: we
have no specific guidelines regarding running time, genre or format.
However, the production costs of the films must not exceed 2.500 Euro
per minute of running time.
We will differentiate between the categories “No Budget” and “Low
Budget”. Screening formats for the categories “No Budget” and “Low
Budget” are DVD and MiniDV/DV. „Low Budget“-productions can as well be
presented as 35mm- or 16mm-copies. Other formats are possible by
agreement.
