This June we will launch our first annual film festival, celebrating the many facets of the art of storytelling through cinema. Featuring screenplay and short film competitions that are far beyond ordinary, this four-day festival takes place right here in downtown Cary, NC.

We’re attracting filmmakers from across the country who’ve submitted their screenplays and short films (>30 minutes) embodying some unusual incarnations of this year’s “Hometown Stories” theme. Join us for a weekend of fun and an enjoyable cinematic experience open to the community.
WHY BEYOND?
The roots of our slogan “Beyond Ordinary” originate from the Town’s moniker from the late 1700s as Bradford’s Ordinary. It represents our mission of providing a unique setting to experience affordable art house cinema. As we launch our inaugural festival this year, we invite you to participate in what we expect to be a unique cultural arts experience here in the Town of Cary.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE FILM FESTIVAL
Attendees will enjoy the best short films we can find from filmmakers far and wide, including a selection of invited feature-length films, and short film and screenplay submissions. The festival will offer a stimulating sneak-peek into the minds of filmmakers and showcase the bedrock of cinema: the screenplay. Join us for social events and other fun activities to make the festival one you won’t want to miss!

Working Title Film Festival was born in Vicenza (Italy) in 2016 to give space to the best of the independent audiovisual production showing the world of work and the several topics connected to it, through original points of view and languages. The purpose is to offer visibility to not-mainstream audiovisual works and to emerging cinema, building a network between independent filmmakers and audience. The festival wants to bring a contemporary point of view on the new job’s models and conditions, highlighting not only the negative aspects, bond to precariousness, fragmentation and rights’ decrease, but also the creative opportunities.

In May Porto opens its doors to the monochromatic aesthetics. The Black & White - International Audiovisual Festival, which receives video, audio and photographs in black and white, will take into competition works from all over the world.
With unique worldwide characteristics this initiative grew from the need to answer to the audience's growing sensitivity to black & white specificity, leaving behind the prejudice that relates this aesthetics with works of early cinema.
But the festival shows more than videos and photos in two colours, it also encourages the creation of sound environments referring to the black and white.
Over four days, several activities related to the audiovisual world will be carried out in addition to the competitions: artist talks, screenings and extensions from other international festivals. The nights will also be exciting with a broad cultural program.
Director: Pascal Capitolin & Jean Marie Ndihokubwayo.
