The short film narrates the story of a pond died on account of negligence and encroachment by people in the name of development, ignoring the utility of sustenance of natural resources.
Without any spoken word and in the form of a monologue, it portrays the journey in visual terms from the lively days of the pond, the decadence and its ultimate death caused by a huge construction developed within its proximity.

Asia is a chaotic place where 'history', 'culture', 'popular life', and 'modern technology' are all mixed. A Japanese character wanders the cities of East Asia and gets lost in the maze; as if he cannot judge whether it's a dream or reality. The camera enter in the depths of Asia.

Mentioned in the March/April 2010 issue of Poets & Writers, Shape of a Box is currently looking for submissions of film and video that respond to, interpret, or are based upon poetry.

West Virginia mountaineer short film festival will take place in the historic Warner Theater in downtown Morgantown. Built by the Warner Brothers, H. M., Major Albert, and J.L nearly 80 years ago, this distinguished movie house is reminiscent of the early years of film. It's a perfect venue for screening works that strive to be new, innovative and original, as our festival does. Its historical significance also lends itself to one of the festival's areas of emphasis, exploring regional/Appalac...

purgatory / noun / an intermediate place or state of temporary suffering for expiatory purification
Within the word “purgatory”, it is easy to envision condemned souls, torment and darkness. However, purgatory may also reflect the cyclic state in which we often rediscover or recreate ourselves anew from within our personal inflictions. Sometimes it is the necessary stage to exorcise ourselves from the haunting ghosts of the past. Perhaps it is the serene place of self reflection and realization.
From within this, the producers of the DAMNED exhibition of fine dark art present a new exhibition of cinema and theatre called Purgatory. Held near halfway to DAMNED and Devil’s Night on May 20-22 2010 in Detroit, Purgatory will present approximately 30 short films of deeply introspective, beautifully disturbing and darkly enlightening subject matters from filmmakers worldwide. This is not an industry-focused horror film festival, but a tributary showcase of the often redemptive films from the filmmaker’s personal damnations complimented with live experimental performance art on stage during intermissions.

Montreal's Concordia University is filled with creative, ambitious and radical young artists and academics. The Students of Philosophy Association, SoPhiA, is reaching out to this rich and varied community with their first Film Festival. Over the course of four days, the festival organizers aim to screen at least twelve outstanding films from around the world:
"We are looking for short films of all kinds (shorts, fiction,
documentary, and everything in between) to be shown at the
festival, titled "Four Days of Therapy for the Population". It is a festival
which should be the basis for questioning the human condition. We want
to create a place where questions are posed, and discussion blooms.
The major themes are centered around relational human experience: in
relation to oneself, (identity), to others, and finally in relation to
the objective world."
Any and all submissions will be considered (French or English)
