Denton Black Film Festival Presents 50 Shades of Black - Video Series

The concept is simple. 50 videos. 50 people. 1 goal : Tell the stories of everyday black people. In a media landscape where the stories of people of color aren’t told often or accurately, the series sets out to tell the stories of black people within the Dallas-Fort Worth community - in their own words.

Denton Black Film Festival

Films that...Entertain...Educate...InspireThe  2016 Denton Black Film Festival (DBFF) will showcase films that entertain, educate, inspire, and communicate Black American cultural themes to the broader community as expressed through movies and art that reflect cultural mindset and changes through several generations of film-making.  The 2016 Denton Black Film Festival (DBFF) is a month long expo of engaging and entertaining films and events, culminating in a major screening of over 25 award-winning and/or though provoking films January 29-31. The Festival offers programming for the family inspired by the African-American experience.  DBFF seeks to offer the works of local, national and international filmmakers, that often are not seen by a broad audience and may not be recognized through major theatrical release.

Ecologico International Film Festival

The Ecologico International Film Festival (EIFF) promote, through cinema, a reflection on contemporary society. It does this through film screenings, meetings with prominent personalities of culture and debates with the public. We do not suggest solutions, we simply stimulate change through individual awareness. We believe that the cultural development contributes to the creation of new opportunities for social and economic development for the people and the land, respectful of the rights of man and the environment.

The competition is open to movies dealing the following themes: Environment / Anthropology / Religious, ethnic, cultural cohabitation / Democracy / Diaspora / Human Rights / Diversity / Economics / War / Integration / Landscape / Equal Opportunity / Participation / Racism / Popular Traditions.

Cine Migratorio

Cine Migratorio is a migration-themed film festival that will take place May 10-13, 2012 in Santander, Spain. The Festival aims to present a program of artistically accomplished, thematically challenging and stimulating films about migration to students, migrants, Santander residents, and anyone who wishes to join us for this weekend-long event. We hope these films will incite reflection and discussion about migration, but also about the power of film to capture mobility in a modern age. We welcome all film genres (feature, short, documentary, experimental, animation) and do not endorse any one political stance on migration issues. Cine Migratorio endeavors to screen films that explore a wide range of migration-related themes and issues, from the way in which economic and social forces that drive migration cross as many borders as migrants themselves, to personal migration stories, to films less directly concerned with migration but still resonant with its effects and contexts. In addition to screenings, Cine Migratorio will feature lectures, workshops, live music, and other events. Leading up to the festival, Cine Migratorio will host an array of programs in local high schools and local centers. Cine Migratorio will take place May 10-13th in Santander, Spain, in the Paraninfo at the Las Llamas campus of the Universidad Internacional Menendez Pelayo (UIMP).

My First Festival

My First Festival is a film fest for schools and family audiences which celebrates its third edition this year. With venues at Verdi Cinemas and the Catalan Film Institute (Filmoteca de Catalunya) in Barcelona, the event will take place from 20 to 28 November 2010.

The festival was set up to promote children’s films in all their variety and creativity, showcasing a selection of works from all over the world and from throughout cinema history. Its goals are to entertain and to educate, to stimulate the imagination and creativity and to awaken the critical spirit.
