Next Generation Short Tiger 2012 in CannesAfterits successful premiere last year, German Films and the German Federal Film Board (FFA) will be once again cooperating on the presentation of the NEXT GENERATION SHORT TIGER 2012 program of shorts in Cannes. The international professionals will thus have the opportunity to discover both the NEXT GENERATION of the German film schools as well as the winners of the SHORT TIGER 2012. Next Generation was initiated in 1997 to present up-and-coming talents of German film schools on an international platform. The Short Tiger has been awarded by the FFA since 2000 and was presented this year for the second time most successfully during the HDF cinema-owners' conference KINO in Baden-Baden. The joint initiative Next Generation Short Tiger aims to help return the short film as an independent form of art and entertainment to its well-deserved place on the big cinema screen and inthe consciousness of German and international audiences. An expert jury selected 13 shorts for NEXT GENERATION SHORT TIGER 2012: ANGELINHO by Maryna Shchipak (Baden-Württemberg Film Academy, Short Tiger), BABUSCHKA by Simona Feldman (German Film and Television Academy Berlin, dffb), CHICA XX MUJER by Isabell Šuba (University of Film and Television "Konrad Wolf" Potsdam-Babelsberg HFF/B), DIFFERENT (ANDERSARTIG) by Dennis Stein-Schomburg (School of Art and Design Kassel, Short Tiger), FELIX by Anselm Belser (PaulOhmertFilms, Short Tiger), MISSION "BOY" (MISSION "JUNGE") by Mirjam Orthen (University of Television and Film Munich HFF/M, Special Mention Short Tiger), OLGASTRASSE 18 by Jörg Rambaum und Liv Scharbatke (Baden-Württemberg Film Academy, Short Tiger), PORTRAIT by Cyril Amon Schäublin (German Film and Television Academy Berlin, dffb), RAVENBOY (RABENJUNGE) by Andrea Deppert (Baden-Württemberg Film Academy), RUN OUT (DURCHGEBRANNT) by Thomas Schienagel and Michael Haas (Georg Simon Ohm University of Applied Sciences Nuremberg), SPACE STATION (RAUMSTATION) by Felicitas Sonvilla (University of Television and Film Munich HFF/M), TWO MEN AND A TABLE (ZWEI MÄNNER UND EIN TISCH) by Ester Amrami (University of Film and Television "Konrad Wolf" Potsdam-Babelsberg HFF/B) and THE VAGABOND (DER VAGABUND) by Rudolf Domke (German Film and Television Academy Berlin, dffb).
