Fresno Film Festival

SHORT FILM – ALL GENRES
We welcome films of any genre or film category, such as animation, documentary, narrative fiction, etc. Submissions need to be 30 minutes or shorter in length. An “Audience Award” winner and “John Kelley Excellence in Cinematography Award” winner will be announced on the final day of the festival.

MISSION & OBJECTIVE
The Fresno Film Festival is sponsored by Fresno Filmworks, a non-profit group committed to bringing independent, experimental and foreign films to Central California. Filmmakers and directors will be invited to present their films and interact with our audience. Our goal is to provide a film experience that is thought provoking and joyful for an audience hungry for alternatives to the multiplex.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
We invite filmmakers to join us in our celebration of cinema at the Fresno Film Festival at the historic 750-seat art deco Tower Theater, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Located mid-way between San Francisco and Los Angeles, Fresno is the largest inland city in California, and home to several colleges and universities. Fresno is both the center of the largest farm economy in the U.S. and the gateway to Yosemite National Park and the spectacular Sierra Nevada mountains. Fresno is home to one of the most ethnically diverse populations in California, with large Latino and Asian populations. Our festival encourages films that will appeal to diverse and underrepresented audiences.

Fresno Filmworks is a community-based non-profit group committed to showing independent, experimental and foreign films in Fresno. We are supported through the Fresno Arts Council and have a large and committed audience that attends our regular monthly film screenings.

GENERAL RULES
1) Screening materials should be sent on DVD or VHS, although accepted films can be projected from Beta SP, DVD, or 35 mm.
2) All films must be in English or have English subtitles.
3) A press kit is recommended but not required; however we do request that you label your entry with title, director’s name, and running time.
4) The festival cannot be held responsible for loss or damage to materials submitted.
