BucharEST International Film Festival (B-EST IFF) has the pleasure to announce the complete list of films off competition and the special screenings which will be shown at Studio Cinema between March 23rd and 30th!
This year, B-EST IFF has some exceptional films in store for you:
THE FLOWER BRIDGE, director Thomas Ciulei's newest documentary;
FOUR NIGHTS WITH ANNA, screened in the presence of Polish director Jerzy Skolimovski,
the festival's Guest of Hnor and author of a splendid painting
exhibition that you can see starting with March 24th at 3/4 ArtExpo
Galleries, Bucharest National Theater;
GONZO: THE LIFE AND WORK OF DR. HUNTER S. THOMPSON, an Alex Gibney
documentary (Oscar for Taxi to the Dark Side), that depicts the life
and adventures of Gonzo journalism dr. Hunter S.Thompson (his relation
with Hell's Angels, his attempt to become sherrif in Aspen, the novel
"Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas", his active involvement in the
presidential campaign of senator George McGovern in 1972, etc.);
MOSCOW, BELGIUM, directed by Christophe Van Rompaey,
awarded with ACID, Rails d’Or and SACD for Screenplay within Cannes
International Film Festival, Krzysztof Kieslowski Award for Best Film
within Denver International Film Festival and Best Debut within Zurich
Film Festival, all in 2008.
And finally, TOKYO!, the exotic cinema triptic directed by Michel Gondry, Leos Carax and Bong Joon-Ho,
made of the short films „Interior Design”, „Merde” and ‘Shaking Tokyo”
that together compose a symphony interpreted in three dissonant parts,
reflecting the image of the metropolis.
B-EST IFF will also have two special events - HBO DOCUMENTARIES EVENING, featuring two documentaries produced by HBO Romania - Apocaplypse on wheels and Weddings, music and videotapes, and the ISRAELI EVENING, featuring, screened for the very first time in Romania, Shiva, a film written and directed by actress Ronit Elkabetz together with her brother Shlomi Elkabetz.
For the mass media representatives, the access will be allowed based on the press accreditations.
All students, regardless of university, have free access to films.
The
audience will be able to watch the screenings within B-EST
International Film Festival based on individual tickets or 4 movies
passes.
