2004 Arizona Screenplay Competition Winners Announced
Phoenix Film Festival, in partnership with the Arizona Screenwriters Association, is pleased to announce the winners of the 2004 Arizona Screenplay Competition.
First place selection for a screenplay that takes place Outside of Arizona is awarded to the medical thriller Tappers by Kevin Coleman of Houston, Texas.
First place selection for a screenplay that takes place Inside Arizona is awarded to the mystery drama Ghosts at the Gate by Randy Kobler of Phoenix, Arizona.
Second place selection for a screenplay that takes place Outside of Arizona is awarded to the western Daughters of the Trail by Dennis Yares of Paradise Valley, Arizona.
Second place selection for a screenplay that takes place Inside Arizona is awarded to the romance drama Arizona Moon by Patricia Marcantonio from Twin Falls, Idaho.
The scripts were judged the best of the Phoenix Film Festival’s ten finalists for the feature-length screenplay competition. The top ten finalists (five in each category) are listed on the Festival website www.phoenixfilmfestival.com along with a synopsis of each script and contact information.
First place winners will each receive a $200 cash prize, a copy of Final Draft Screenwriting software, professional coverage and a query letter based on his or her winning script, a one-year listing on INKTIP.COM and an All-access VIP pass to the 2004 Phoenix Film Festival, April 1-4, along with accommodations. Second place winners will each receive a $100 cash prize and an All-Access VIP Pass to the 2004 Phoenix Film Festival.
All of the top ten screenplay entries will be publicized and honored at the 2004 Phoenix Film Festival set to take place at the Harkins Scottsdale-101 theatre, home of the Cine Capri, in Phoenix.
During the Festival more than 50 of the best independent feature and short films will be screened. There will also be many special events featuring top industry professionals. Among them, actor/director Peter Fonda will appear in person Saturday evening, April 3rd, for a clip show, conversation and screening of his restored 70’s film “The Hired Hand.”
