We invite all new film directors to apply for the 6th Cyprus International Film Festival with their film(s).
Films produced after January 1st 2008 can participate in CYIFF 2011. These films must be premieres in Cyprus.
A. CYIFF 2011 General Categories:
1. Feature Films (120 minutes max. length)
2. Short Films (up to 30 minutes)
3. Films for children (120 minutes max. length)
4. Animation Films (120 minutes max. length)
5. Sport Films - 'Fair Play' (sports genre and/or olympic spirit) (120 minutes max. length)
6. Diaspora GreekCypriot cinematographers' Films - 'Nostimon Imar' (Greek/Cypriot cinematographers who live abroad) (120 minutes max. length)
7. Humanitarian (120 minutes max. length)
8. Comedy Films (120 minutes max. length)
9. Dance Films and VIDEO DANCE (up to 60 minutes)
10. Music Films – Video Clips (up to 5 minutes)
B. CYIFF 2011 Special Categories:
- Awarded Cypriot Film Directors
- Panorama (films out of competition)
- Homage Films about Ancient Times - Antiquity
The official application form will be sent to the applicants after they fill the questionnary at Film Submission field on the website www.cyprusfilmfestival.org
The deadline for applications for Greek/Cypriot feature films and shorts, which have not yet been released theatrically at cinemas in Cyprus, to participate in the competition section of the 6th International Film Festival of Cyprus, is the 30th of June, 2011. The applicants will be notified within August 2011 for the selection of their film.

International Film Festival (CYIFF)
will be presenting the 6th annual edition in the capital of the beautiful island of Cyprus, Nicosia under the Auspices of the Municipality of Nicosia. The festival is in cooperation with Friends of Cinema Society of Cyprus and University of Nicosia. Faithful to its “appointment” with everywhere cinema fans desire to contribute to cinema’s growth and the emergence of new directors and actors CYIFF creates an important networking place for locals, Cypriots, cinefil and foreign filmmakers. Through its versatile program succeeds in combining “traditional” cinema forces and values with innovative patterns and proposals which show the future in film practice and theory. It promotes both the Greek/Cypriot filmmakers living abroad and Cypriot cinematography by the film category “Nostimon Imar”, as well as the island of Cyprus as a new cinema travel destination through a pancyprian nonprofit cultural organization.
We, in Cyprus International Film Festival, would like to celebrate once more the magic of cinema and on the occasion of the European Year of Volunteering we would like to challenge all of you to participate and show to everybody that you
can also make a difference and join our enthousiastic organising team of cinema professionals who are volunteers since the year of its inauguation, 2006!
