The Berlinale will again be unrolling its Flying Red Carpet at selected neighbourhood cinemas in 2011. With this series, it wants to express its thanks to Berlin's movie fans and to those who put together the programmes of these cinemas. "Berlinale goes Kiez" was launched last year for the Festival's 60th anniversary and proved to be an absolute favourite among Berliners.

This unique festival is an i nterface between theatre,
music and media. It will be held every two years, each time with a
different focus. In 2010 the focus will be on music. Following the Motto
"Music on Screen" filmmakers, media representatives, musicians,
theatre people and directors as well as students and interested
non-professionals will consider this complex subject in all its
diversity in workshops, podium and panel discussions.
Internationsal Artists like Wim Wenders, Irmin Schmidt or the
Catalonian performance group La Fura dels Baus will be our guests at this years Festival.

Screen/Screen on Stage - International Festival of Performing Arts &
Media Ludwigsburg, as this three-day event is officially called, has
been initiated by the Film Academy Baden-Wuerttemberg,
the Academy for Performing Arts
Baden-Wuerttemberg ADK, the Ludwigsburg Schlossfestspiele
and the Film- und Medienfestival gGmbH.

As part of the sixtieth birthday celebration, the Berlinale is hosting the world premiere of TRACE OF THE BEARS (Spur Der Baren), a German documentary by Berlin-based Zero Film, that traces the history of one of the world's great film events.
