LA FILM FESTIVAL OPENING FILM & GALA!!!

If the first night is any indication of what is to come over the next 10 days, I am VERY excited! I had a blast! The screening was the premiere of the film "Talk To Me" which stars Don Cheadle, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Taraji Henson, Vondie Curtis Hall, Cedric the Entertainer and Martin Sheen. (Directed by Kasi Lemmons.) It was so packed at the Mann Village Theatre that they had to open another theater for the overflow. When I arrived, I saw a friend from when I worked in the music business. She and her husband were in line and I got to cut in to be with them. (sorry!) We were in the overflow category. :-) But it wasn't bad, they just lead us to a theater about a block away, The Regent. The movie was good, it was funny, touching and well-acted. Don Cheadle and Chiwetel Ejiofor are amazing. Oh, and Taraji Henson was a BLAST to watch. That girl is amazing!

After the screening, I walked out and the party was literally right in front of the theater. They had several blocks tented off and that's where the party was! Woo woo!! Open bar, yummy food, a fun DJ and a great Los Angeles perfect temperature night all equaled an incredible night! I met a few other aspiring filmmakers and so that was a bunch of fun. I tried to eat dinner, drink my glass of wine, take pictures for this blog, and network! All I needed was a monkey on my head crashing symbols and the picture would be complete. Geesh!

I am a bit frustrated today thought because I am totally trying to figure out how these blogs work. They seem much more complicated then I was anticipating. I thought I was just going to be able to upload pics and text easily. Not the case. So what I'm going to do is just do the main written part here and then include a link to my website www.SkyLifeProductions.com which will contain all the videos and pictures from the night before. It will take me 2 seconds to do this at home but on these blogs I've already been at this for a couple of hours! If you have any suggestions or know of an easier way (maybe I'm just making it hard on myself) let me know. Shoot me an email at lisa@lisamurray.com. I greatly appreciate it!!!

Tonight I am not going to any film screenings but I am going to a big party, it's the Diversity Expo. I was hoping to interview someone on camera briefly about the Expo but I haven't heard back from the girl I had been communicated with. So I may have video for you tomorrow. :-)

If you would like me to capture a specific aspect of the festival, let me know. I'm doing this blog for YOU so you just tell me what you'd like to see and I'm all over it!

Ciao!
Lisa :-)
